Haskell D. Portee (Danny), President and CEO of Professional Management Enterprises, Inc. in Indianapolis, has been named to the National Small Business Association (NSBA) Leadership Council. NSBA, the nation’s oldest small-business advocacy organization, operates on a staunchly nonpartisan basis. Portee, a leader in the small-business community and a member of Martin University's Board of Trustees, joins other advocates to promote small business interests to policymakers in Washington, D.C.
“As a small-business owner, I see daily the importance of being involved and active when it comes to laws and regulation,” stated Portee. “Joining NSBA’s Leadership Council will enable me to take our collective small-business message to the people that need to hear it most: Congress.”
Portee founded PME in 2005 after retiring from the United States Army. In 2020, he founded WellTrans, Inc., to connect low-income Hoosiers with non-emergency medical transportation services. He leads his companies by example and serves as a community activist and advocate for issues that affect quality of life.
“Danny Portee’s leadership and dedication to community service exemplify the values we uphold at Martin University,” stated Dr. Sean Huddleston, President of Martin University. “His involvement with the NSBA Leadership Council will undoubtedly amplify the voice of small businesses and drive positive change.”
