March is the month where women are honored, recognized, and celebrated for their contributions and notable achievements over American history. Here at Martin University, we celebrate and spotlight our very own Alumna this Women’s History Month.
Alumna Kayla Winters graduated from Martin University in May 2020, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education, with Magna Cum Laude distinction. Since walking across the stage, Winters has accomplished great things within her career. Kayla Winters is a child and youth professional with a renowned track record of compliance and regulatory standings. In addition, she has mentored at-risk children and youth, consulted, designed, and opened a new child care ministry that dwells on Edna Martin Christian Center (EMCC) Leadership & Legacy Campus.
Winters currently serves as the Director of Early Childhood Education for EMCC's child care ministries. Kayla ensures program compliance with local, state, and federal laws, overseeing curriculum development and implementation.
In her role, Ms. Winters has endorsed an all-encompassing culturally sound and versatile, high-quality learning environment that meets each child's individualized needs. Winters connects children and families to wrap-around support services, managing program operations and logistics. She strives to impact educational outcomes in the Martindale-Brightwood community by promoting academic, social, and emotional support services for all children in care.
Let's celebrate this amazing alumna alongside other great women and continue to help break glass ceilings for future Martin Women and beyond.
