Martin University is proud to partner with Lampco Federal Credit Union in a collaboration that reflects our shared commitment to educating and empowering individuals with a guided path forward. This partnership is designed to position our students, faculty, staff, and the broader Indianapolis community for successful careers that include higher-paying jobs, contributing to the upliftment of our city.
This initiative aligns with Martin University's mission to create opportunities for personal and professional growth. By providing access to resources that enhance financial literacy, advance career readiness, and introduce innovative financial tools, we are equipping individuals with the skills and support they need to achieve lasting success and financial independence.
As part of this collaboration, Lampco has installed an interactive teller machine (ITM) on Martin University’s campus, offering convenient access to financial services through live video interactions with tellers. This innovative solution bridges the gap for underserved populations and underscores the commitment of both Martin University and Lampco to community enrichment.
Lampco, established in 1962 to serve employees of Guide Lamp, a division of General Motors, has since grown to include membership for individuals who live, work, worship, or attend school in Madison County. Lampco will provide financial literacy resources, including workshops on budgeting, saving, and managing student debt. The credit union’s efforts aim to support Martin University students, faculty, and staff while also fostering relationships with the broader Indianapolis community
Founded in 1977, Martin University is Indiana's only Predominantly Black Institution (PBI) of higher education. It is steeped in a history of service, and its mission is to educate and develop diverse workforce-ready students in an inclusive, supportive, and collegiate environment. Martin University’s vision is to elevate the landscape while providing transformative opportunities, inclusive support, and service to our communities.
